Blood Tide

The plot of this film features an American archaeologist who is
hunting for ancient treasures off the coast of a Greek island.
During his search he unknowingly awakens the wrath of an age-old
mythic sea creatures who has been slumbering for centuries. As it turns out the
chief elder of the island has studied the legend of the monster and is well
aware of the monster's fury and what it can mean. The main question of this film
is whether or now the monster can be tamed.
If for no other reason, this movie is worth seeing simply because of the
presence of James Earl Jones and his incredible voice. During the 70's and 80's
he was on a particular roll, portraying the voice of Darth Vader and then
playing the role of Thulsa Doon in Conan the Barbarium.
His role in Blood Tide
was performed in 1982 in between those two amazing roles.
The acting in this movie is pretty decent for its genre and the scenery is
particularly awesome. Other than that, it is pretty obvious that this is a low
budget film. The presence of the main stars add some credibility to the low
budget thriller; however, the movie leads you up to what turns out to be an
ending without much of a thrill.
